PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING WITH ELAINE COWLEY FROM MEANINGFUL MOVEMENT

In partnership with Wriggle and The Core at Corby Cube, this course is delivered by Elaine Cowley from Meaningful Movement Ltd. She is a Sherborne Developmental Movement Practitioner, consultant and trainer, and creator of the highly successful Big Moves intervention programme used in primary schools in Leicester City and Leicestershire.

Families Creative Dance at Lillington Library

As part of Wriggle's research & development into the links between creative dance and child development we will be delivering a series of 7 weekly creative dance workshops for families at Lillington Library in partnership with Warwickshire Libraries Service and funded by Warwick District Council Arts Development.

Sessions are running from 7th November for 7 weeks, every Tuesday:

10am-10.30am for under 2's and babies
10.45am-11.30am for over 2's

Intergenerational Dance Project for Care Homes

Wriggle has been awarded funding from The Compton Fund for the Arts at Northamptonshire Community Foundation to create an interactive intergenerational dance performance to tour to 12 care homes in Northamptonshire. 8 performers of all ages will be recruited from the local dance community to pilot this exciting project in July and August 2017.

Family & Pre-school Dance Project - Kingswood & Hazel Leys


Wriggle is touring The Colour of Me, from Oct 2016 and we are inviting families from the Kingswood and Hazel Leys districts of Corby to take part in an exciting outreach project linked to the tour. 

Funded by the KHL Fund, we will offer a 6 week creative dance and movement project aimed at local families with pre-school children (target age 3-5 year olds). 5 weekly creative dance and movement sessions will be held at both the Kingswood Neighbourhood Centre and Hazelwood Neighbourhood Centre, each led by a professional dance artist from Wriggle Dance Theatre. After five weeks the two groups will come together for the final week to meet each other and share what they have done during the project.

During the sessions families will be able to play and move together, utilising creative movement, games, songs and props.

Families Creative Dance Sessions at Lillington Library

Supported by Royal Leamington Spa Town Council, Wriggle will be running FREE Creative Dance Sessions for children and families at Lillington Library, starting on 3rd May.
Sessions will run every Tuesday for 10 weeks at:
10.30am to 11am - babies /under 2's
11.15pm to 12pm - 2 to 5 yrs

Dance Across the Years

Supported through funding from Northamptonshire Community Foundation, The Compton Fund for Arts Wriggle are delivering an inter-generational community dance project with participants from St Crispins Retirement Village and St Lukes CEVA Primary School in Northampton.


The project is running for 10 weeks and culminates in a performance to an invited audience of friends and family at St Crispin Village Hall in March. The group has 30 participants between the ages of 8 and 93 who each week, working with Wriggle Dance Theatre, create dances together and learn fun dance routines.


The project is an opportunity to bring young and old together and reduce social isolation. Maureen, one of the residents taking part, said 'I enjoy the sessions as much as the children do and they take me back many years, they are magical'.


The group has been sharing their stories and memories with each other and expressing them through creative dance. 

Dance & Craft Training Day for Early Years / Arts Practitioners

A continued professional development day for Early Years Practitioners or Arts Practitioners who don’t necessarily come from a dance background, but would like to gain skills and ideas in working with creative dance, movement and craft making.


The day will be co-delivered by Lucy Knight and Kath Kimber Mc-Tiffen, Co-directors of Wriggle Dance Theatre and will be packed with ideas to use in community settings with families, or Early Years settings.


The training day includes a take away tool kit of tried and tested exercises and crafts in a specially produced resource pack.

First Moves at The Core at Corby Cube

Wriggle are thrilled to be leading The Core at Corby Cubes, First Moves weekly sessions for under 5's and their grown ups which run during term time from 10am to 11am and 11am to 11.45am.

The sessions are £2 per child and are very popular so make sure you book if you want to come along.

Warwick District Council workshops in Childrens centres

Wriggle have been awarded funding from Warwick District Council to run a project with families in Childrens Centres in Leamington Spa and Warwick.
The project will give the opportunity for parents and their pre-school children to take part in a series of creative dance and movement sessions, facilitated by Wriggle Dance Theatre. 

The Blue Moon interactive workshop

Wriggle offer a range of workshops aimed at young families and Keystage 1 which can be adapted to suit varying abilities and needs.
 
Wriggle are currently delivering workshops related to their performance, 'Once in a Blue Moon', allowing participants to more fully explore some of the themes from the show.

Creative Dance Project for Families - Connect, Move & Get Fit!

Wriggle are running an exciting new creative dance & health project for families with children ages 2 and up in 3 Northamptonshire Libraries. Funded by Northamptonshire County Council and in partnership with Northamptonshire Libraries and Royal & Derngate Theatre this project runs weekly from March to May and is FREE to participate.

We are looking for 3 groups of up to 10 families (parent/carer & child) to take part in this 10 week project. To book a place simply pop into the library where you would like to attend the project or email using the details below.

The Blue Moon interactive workshop

– Children’s Centre tour funded by Northamptonshire Community Foundation

After an overwhelming demand for the workshop came from the schools tour in July 2012, Northamptonshire Community Foundation funded Wriggle to deliver a further series of 8 workshops in Children’s Centres throughout Northamptonshire.

These workshops were aimed in areas or deprivation and were an opportunity for parents to both watch and take part in creative movement and movement sessions alongside their child.

In July 2012 Wriggle delivered a series of community dance workshops related to their current production,'Once in a Blue Moon' throughout 14 schools and nursery’s in Northamptonshire.

Young Parents Get Active

Supported by Corby Borough Council, Wriggle will be running FREE dance and movement sessions for young parents (up to 25 yrs) and their children (0 to 5 yrs) at Pen Green Centre, Corby.

Sessions will run every Thursday for 8 weeks from 5th May to 30th June, 1pm to 2pm.

A day of Exploring the relevance of Developmental Movement Patterns, based on principles of Body-Mind Centering for devising and delivering creative practice.

Tuesday 3rd December 2013 in Corby

A workshop to experimentally visit the spiral of developmental Movement patterns from a somatic perspective. 
This day will offer a brief overview of movement patterns inherent to human development which form the bedrock of how we know ourselves and others. When working in the realm of dance, movement and play with young children and adults who care for them, it can be useful to know about this spiral of developmental movement and discover how these patterns are present and inherent in creative expression.

Families Connect 4 Movement

Wriggle will give up to 15 families from four Warwickshire villages the opportunity to take part in a high quality cross-arts project and aim to ignite a lasting interest in participatory arts as well as build a sense of community and connection for people living in rural locations.
